Borris Heath and Borris Target Range

Borris Heath is Denmark’s largest area of heathland. It encompasses moorlands, ponds and inland sand dunes. This area is the natural habitat of some of this country’s rarest species of birds and plants.

Omme River crosses Borris Heath and is home to healthy stocks of otters and salmon. Skjern River marks the northernmost edge of Borris Heath. Here you will find Borris Military Camp which manages Borris Heath is a military firing range, where firing is permitted during about eight months of each year. There is no public access to the camp.

There is public access to the military area on days when there is no firing. See and information signs on approach roads.
